Top 8 books we want to see turned in a movie

Wednesday, 12 November 2014

Heyo folks! The White Fox here.

We want you to know that obviously we're not only into reading, but we also love other kinds of art —and who doesn't. In this case, we're gonna show you our top 8 of books we want to see turned into a movie.
I hope you enjoy it and if you've read this books and you don't agree with us you can start a discussion down below on the comments.

Let's do this.

1. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I just hope someone with enough power and money to make a movie out of this
book reads it. I'm so sure he wouldn't even hesitate, he wouldn't even consider it. The Night Circus has to be taken to the big screen and please it must be done properly. There's no need to change anything, if you take it as it is, you will get an amazing mistery/love/fiction film. There's not much more to say. Just read it already!

2. The Prince of Mist by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
An all time favourite. I have to say that I read this book when I was at high school, but I still keep it in mind as if I had read it last night. At the time it scared the sh*t out of me but at the same time it was so intriguing and fascinating it left me open-mouthed and the whole time I was picturing everything as if it was a movie. I would love to see this in the cinemas.

3. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
Well, obviously almost everyone that has read The Name Of The Wind knows it's going to end as a film sooner or later. It follows all the rules of the fantasy genre, quite Tolkien(ish) but in a smaller scale, part of a series as well as being an all-life story. Oh, yes, I want to see that. If it was up to me, Tom Wlaschiha would play Kvothe.

4. Go Ask Alice by Anonymous
This would definitely be a teenage drama film. It's a really harsh story written by an anonymous author and based in a real teenager personal journal. With a main character that you would hate —not all the time, though— but very very instructive and shocking. One of those films that will make teenagers aware of how they should spend their teenage years.

Before I start with my part of the TOP 8, I need to say something or it will kill me: The Snowy Owl can't see Tom Wlaschiha as Kvothe AT ALL. He's very handsome and all that (loved his part as Jaqen H'ghar in GOT) but he is far too old to play the Kvothe I pictured in my mind.

Now that the random comment is done, let's move on to my TOP 4.

1. Eon/a by Alison Goodman
As I was reading the story of Eon/a —which is a duology, by the way—, I thought it would make an incredible epic fantasy/action film. There is action, political disputes, love, betrayal, war, friendship... and DRAGONS. What can be more epic than that? Dragons!
I apologize for saying this again but, if done right, this duology would make an EPIC film.

2. Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
I could have chosen Fangirl by the same author or even Eleanor&Park —which I think it actually is going to become a film— but I also think this one would be a nice story to be taken to the big screen. It would make a great romantic comedy and I'd totally watch it. Besides, I'm not really picky about the casting as long as they do a good job at portraying the characters depicted by Rainbow Rowell.

3. Reckless (Mirrorworld trilogy) by Cornelia Funke
This is the last trilogy —though only the first two volumes are out yet— of one of my favourite fantasy authors. Her works are full of mystery and darkness hiding behind what it could seem a children's book. But they are not. They are full of characters known to everyone from the traditional fairy tales, though with a twist, a cruel twist. This is what I like the most about Funke's stories and I think that this one would make a beautiful film. I imagine the aesthetics of the film as similar to Willow or The Neverending Story films but darker (and using better special effects, of course).

4. Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
Like Attachments, this a pretty light story, perfect for a light, lovely film. What I would enjoy the most about this book if it had to be turned into a movie would be the locations. Since it talks about a trip through the United States, from West to East, the scenery would surely be amazing. Also, the relationship between the two main characters is so sweet and perfect for this kind of story. The music, as well, takes a big importance in the book so it would make for a really cool soundtrack.
